Why I founded WOWGuests.com

After 25 years building brands across industries, I kept noticing the same gap in hospitality: hotels were investing in renovations and amenities, but treating guest experience and brand storytelling as an afterthought. I founded WOWGuests to close that gap — a consultancy built on the belief that guest experience, not just price or amenities, is the strongest differentiator a hotel or boutique property has.

I built WOWGuests for hotel owners, boutique property managers, and hospitality entrepreneurs who already understand that guest experience drives loyalty and referrals — but need a strategic partner to translate that into brand identity, messaging, and touchpoint design.

The Challenge I Set Out to Solve

The hospitality consulting space is crowded with generic marketing agencies that treat every business the same way. I wanted WOWGuests to stand apart from day one:

  • Instant credibility: with hotel owners who've seen every consulting pitch before.
  • Luxury positioning: without intimidating smaller, independent properties.
  • Modern appeal: that still respects hospitality tradition.
  • A brand guests remember: not another corporate consulting identity.
  • Clarity that this is experience design, not generic marketing.
Brand Positioning & Strategy Development

Before touching any visual design, I built the strategic foundation that would guide every decision:

  • Unique Selling Proposition: I defined WOWGuests' core differentiator — transforming any property into a memorable experience through strategic touchpoint design, not expensive renovations.
  • Brand Positioning Statement: I positioned WOWGuests as the strategic partner for properties that want to compete on experience and justify premium rates, not race to the bottom on price.
  • Elevator Pitch Framework: I wrote multiple versions of a 30-second pitch, adaptable from luxury chains to independent B&Bs.
  • Target Audience Personas: I defined the hospitality professional archetypes I wanted to reach — from family-run inn owners to boutique hotel groups — and mapped their specific pain points.

Visual Identity Design Philosophy

The Logo: Engineering the WOW Effect
The WOWGuests logo needed to instantly communicate transformation and premium quality. My design strategy focused on:

  • Elegant Typography: I selected a sophisticated typeface that balances classic hospitality elegance with contemporary edge, appealing to both traditional hoteliers and modern property managers
  • Strategic Color Psychology: I chose a color palette that draws inspiration from luxury brands like Rolex and Aston Martin – deep, rich tones that communicate premium quality and exclusivity
  • Visual WOW Factor: The logo design itself creates a memorable impression that reinforces the brand promise – if the logo makes you pause and look twice, imagine what the service can do for your property

Brand Guidelines Development

We created comprehensive brand standards that ensure consistency across all touchpoints:

  • Color System: Primary and secondary color palettes with specific applications for digital and print media
  • Typography Hierarchy: Font selections and usage rules that maintain brand consistency across all communications
  • Logo Variations: Multiple logo configurations for different applications, from business cards to website headers
  • Brand Voice Guidelines: Tone and messaging frameworks that help WOWGuests communicate consistently across all client interactions

Digital Brand Architecture
  • Website Strategy: I provided strategic guidance for wowguests.com, ensuring the digital presence reinforced the premium positioning while remaining accessible to properties of all sizes.
  • Content Framework: I developed messaging hierarchies that guide website copy, marketing materials, and client presentations.
  • Social Media Guidelines: I created brand standards for digital presence that maintain luxury appeal while showcasing real hospitality results.

The Design Thinking Methodology in Action

Drawing on 25 years of brand strategy experience, I applied proven Design Thinking methodology to transform WOWGuests' concept into a compelling brand:

  1. Empathize:
Deep-diving into the hospitality industry's pain points, understanding how property owners make purchasing decisions, and identifying the emotional triggers that drive brand loyalty in the consulting space.

  2. Define:
Establishing WOWGuests' unique position in the market – not just another marketing agency, but strategic experience architects who understand hospitality at a granular level.

  3. Ideate:
Generating creative solutions that would differentiate WOWGuests from generic business consultants while building credibility with hospitality professionals who've seen every marketing pitch.

  4. Prototype:
Refining the brand identity based on real-world feedback from hotel owners and hospitality professionals, ensuring the final brand resonated with the target market.

  5. Test:
Refining the brand identity based on real-world feedback from hotel owners and hospitality professionals, ensuring the final brand resonated with the target market.

What This Project Taught Me

Building WOWGuests from the ground up — not just designing for it, but defining its strategy, positioning, and go-to-market — sharpened a specialization I now bring to every hospitality client: thinking like an owner first, designer second.

It's also why I'm actively pursuing more hands-on work in hotel and guest-experience marketing, beyond my own consultancy.
The result is a brand that doesn't just look professional
– it actively supports WOWGuests' mission to transform hospitality experiences.

The Identibrand Difference

It's not just about looking good – it's about strategic brand architecture.

Many design agencies create beautiful logos that don't serve business objectives. At Identibrand, we understand that effective branding starts with strategic thinking, not aesthetic preferences.

For WOWGuests, we didn't just design a logo – we created a complete brand ecosystem that supports their business goals:

  • Strategic positioning documents that guide all marketing decisions
  • Visual identity that instantly communicates premium expertise
  • Brand guidelines that ensure consistent application across all touchpoints
  • Messaging frameworks that help convert prospects into clients

Strategic Business Benefits
  • Higher Perceived Value: The premium brand positioning supports higher service pricing
  • Client Attraction: The professional brand identity attracts quality clients who value strategic expertise
  • Referral Generation: A memorable brand makes it easier for satisfied clients to recommend WOWGuests
  • Market Differentiation: Clear brand positioning separates WOWGuests from generic marketing agencies
